Smash Cakes. I had never heard of them until a client asked if I could shoot Smash Cake Portraits for her babe. I looked them up and found them! So fun and irreverent. I am into them and hope to shoot more =)
In late September a few friends and I decided to escape to Portland, Maine. Remember I told you about it? One of the best things we did was dine at a restaurant called Fore Street. Dear Lord, this place was amazing. Both the food and the service were beyond!
The place is beautiful - super cozy with an open kitchen and a wood burning oven that can be seen from the main dining room. Exposed brick walls with dim, romantic lighting. It’s located in downtown Portland, just one block away from the waterfront. I highly suggest going if you are ever in that part of the world.
Get the mussels!
If you can’t make it to Fore Street for some time - here is a recipe I got from Joy The Baker to hold you over until you can.
I shot this 1st Birthday party for Camille a little bit ago. I had so much fun and it was held at a great space in NYC called Freshmade. Super fun times with the kids, which got me some super fun shots.
YAY for babies.
Mourir Aupres de Toi (To Die By Your Side)
It’s that time of year. For all the Lovers and all the Ghouls. I never get tired of this video. Happy All Hallows’ Eve!

I dream of Paris.
On the Seine, in Paris, France. I took this picture as me and my mom came walking from Square du Vert Galant at Pont Neuf.
I just read on BBC Magazine, that parts of the quaside along the Seine are being reclaimed strictly for pedestrian use. Reminds me of the outdoor park here in New York City, The High Line.
What is happening on these nouvelles berges - new quays - sounds like so much fun:
On les nouvelles berges, there are restaurants and bars, concert spaces, running tracks, a massive blackboard for children to scrawl on, cabins for rental where you can eat with friends, or hold business meetings.
Go read the full BBC piece here.
