Frida, the beautiful, Frida. I have a major girl crush on her. She embodied ingenuity, strength, creativity, and was so progressive for her time!

Birds Of Paradise

My amazingly talented friend and photographer, Lee O’Conner, is creating a book about stylish and interesting women in New York City.

I love highlighting women and the uniqueness they hold, which is why I love this project. It showcases women - the best gender - from New York City - the best city in the world. Pictures tell stories, the best form of entertainment.

Hello!
This year, in the spirit of the holidays I have decided that I will be using any funds that I would use on gifts for friends or family and put that towards Philippines relief efforts. The people that have gone through this calamity are facing a tremendously difficult holiday season. I don’t lack for much, and am blessed with great material possessions, but the people going through this disaster are barely getting their basic needs met. If you are within my immediate circle of loved ones and considering getting me a gift, I ask that you put those resources towards the Philippines relief efforts - Any charity of your choice*. That small effort can make a positive difference in the life of someone going through something so horrid - And every little bit helps!
I also ask that you consider this act within your circle of loved ones.

*I am donating through Direct Relief, but you can look at this cheat sheet of organizations responding to the disaster. The list of organizations on this article allows you to designate your gift, ensuring that your donation will be used as you intended. Also, this is a great article on why it’s important to do some legwork before choosing a charity to donate to - but highlighting the importance of being charitable.

Pay it forward - Fostering a spirit of kindness and giving, are what the holidays are all about
Here is hoping that your holidays overflow with great things!
With love, K-LO

Fore Street

In late September a few friends and I decided to escape to Portland, Maine. Remember I told you about it? One of the best things we did was dine at a restaurant called Fore Street. Dear Lord, this place was amazing. Both the food and the service were beyond!

The place is beautiful - super cozy with an open kitchen and a wood burning oven that can be seen from the main dining room. Exposed brick walls with dim, romantic lighting. It’s located in downtown Portland, just one block away from the waterfront. I highly suggest going if you are ever in that part of the world.

Get the mussels!

If you can’t make it to Fore Street for some time - here is a recipe I got from Joy The Baker to hold you over until you can.
